Psychological Assessment Services
Comprehensive, evidence-based assessments to better understand your child's unique strengths, challenges, and needs.
I provide autism spectrum disorder and psychoeducational assessments for children, adolescents, and young adults. Each assessment is tailored to the individual and designed to provide meaningful insight along with practical recommendations for home, school, and everyday life.

An ADHD assessment can help clarify whether difficulties with attention, concentration, impulsivity, organization, or executive functioning may be related to ADHD or other factors.
A comprehensive assessment considers the individual's developmental history, behaviour, attention and executive functioning, and information from parents, teachers, or other relevant sources. The goal is to provide a clear understanding of your child's strengths and challenges and practical recommendations to support them at home and at school.

A learning disability assessment evaluates cognitive and academic functioning to better understand how a child learns and where they may be experiencing difficulties.
Assessment may examine areas such as reading, writing, mathematics, processing, memory, and other aspects of learning. Results can help identify a child's learning strengths and needs and provide recommendations for appropriate educational supports and accommodations.
-
A gifted assessment helps identify children with advanced cognitive abilities and better understand their unique learning profile.
Assessment looks at cognitive abilities and patterns of strengths across different areas. Recommendations can help parents and educators understand how to provide appropriate challenge and support so that gifted children can continue to learn and thrive.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments help determine whether a child or young person meets criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder and provide a better understanding of their individual strengths and support needs.
I have extensive experience in ASD assessment, including 11 years providing assessments through the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, as well as experience in hospital and private practice settings. I have completed specialized training to provide ASD assessments in British Columbia in accordance with provincial requirements.
ASD assessments typically include a parent interview and direct assessment of the child or young person. The specific assessment process will depend on age, developmental history, and individual needs.

Developmental assessments can help provide a clearer understanding of a child's cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, and adaptive development.
These assessments may be appropriate when there are concerns about developmental milestones, learning, communication, behaviour, or overall development. Results can help identify strengths, areas requiring support, and appropriate next steps.

Children and adolescents may experience anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, behavioural concerns, or other challenges that affect their well-being at home, at school, or with peers.
A psychological assessment can help clarify the factors contributing to these difficulties and provide recommendations tailored to the child's needs. Areas of concern may include anxiety, depression, ADHD-related difficulties, OCD, selective mutism, behavioural concerns, interpersonal difficulties, and life transitions.
What to Expect
The assessment process varies depending on the type of assessment and the individual's needs. A typical assessment may include:
An initial consultation and developmental history
Cognitive and academic testing, where appropriate
Behavioural, emotional, and social rating scales
Interviews with parents, teachers, or other relevant professionals
Review of relevant records and previous assessments
A comprehensive written report
A feedback meeting to discuss the results and recommendations
The goal is not simply to provide a diagnosis or test scores, but to develop a meaningful understanding of the individual and provide practical recommendations to support their development and success.
